New Mexico surprised me. Albuquerque especially. We rolled into town late at night and immediately found delicious local beer at Marble Brewery. I admit, we probably drank more coffee than needed thanks to the delicious bottomless cups at Java Joe’s.
Santa Fe was also nice, but I felt a little weirded out by the coordinated color scheme. Everything is tan. Santa Fe is worth a visit just for the Georgia O’Keeffe museum. I love her art. Both Martin and I left feeling inspired to create some art.
Just outside Albuquerque, we stayed at our first KOA. I like the fact that there are showers and WiFi and I don’t have to drive 30 minutes out of my way to get there. I find the other campers entertaining bordering on annoying.
ABQ also has a fascinating balloon museum that is worth the $4 entrance fee (but not more than that). I can see that the annual hot air balloon festival would be pretty spectacular. Maybe someday we will come back for it.
The sky pictures are spectacular! Thanks, Jill!
