About Me

“This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.”

Craving Sustenance: a place where I try to capture moments that provide me with strength or nourishment.

I initially started this blog in July 2010 as a way to share my cooking adventures with others. I love to cook, and I love to learn. I’ve mostly taught myself how to cook by experimenting with new foods and cooking methods. Most of my recipes are vegetarian, since I ate a vegetarian diet for 18 years before incorporating fish into my diet. About the same time I started eating fish, I discovered I could no longer tolerate dairy.

I studied education in college and earned my teaching license. I taught English in a high school for a few years before moving into the world of training and development. Most recently, I taught business communication skills and coordinated professional development events at an organization.

Four years after I started this blog, I quit my day jobs and began a travel journey with my husband Martin. I continue to search for moments that sustain me and I am quickly discovering the most profound moments are usually the least expected.
